5 Ways You Can Help During Kitten Season

We’re in the middle of kitten season and kittens everywhere need your help! Thousands of beautiful baby kittens are born every year at this time. Many of the kittens born during kitten season live on the streets until they're taken to shelters. Now the kittens and the shelters both need our help.

Help Kittens in Need in Las Vegas

Following these 5 tips, you can help a kitten (or many kittens!) during this year’s kitten season in Las Vegas.

  1. kitten season Las VegasVolunteer at your favorite animal shelter. Animal shelters everywhere are flooded with kittens during kitten season. These animal shelters need volunteers at this busy time of year. If you like feeding and cuddling newborn kittens, contact an animal shelter near you.
  2. Foster a kitten (or several kittens!). Some animal shelters have a “foster” program. If you join a kitten foster program, you’ll agree to give a kitten around the clock care in your home until that kitten can be adopted by a new owner.
  3. Adopt a kitten. Bring a kitten home for yourself! Opening up your home to a precious kitten can change your life—and the life of an amazing animal—forever.
  4. Give your kitten the care it needs. Once your adopted kitten arrives at your house, one of your first priorities should be to give the newest member of your family the quality care it needs to stay healthy. At All About Cats Veterinary Hospital, we provide a complete kitten wellness package for kittens under 6 months old. Our wellness package includes up to 3 examinations, fecal exams for parasites, deworming, ear mite screening, a microchip, nail trims, and a blood test for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency. These tests and procedures are critical for ensuring the health of your kitten so that he or she can start off life the right way. Our wellness package also includes a customized vaccine program for your kitten's unique needs.
  5. Get your kitten spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering your cat at 3-6 months of age can protect him or her from unintentional breeding or reproduction.
