Fun Activities for your Cat
Providing your cat or kitten with forms of entertainment is a great way for them to get exercise and spend time socializing with you. Here are a few safe activities you can share with your pet to keep them active and entertained.
Follow The Light
Invest in a laser light made especially for playing with cats. Point the light at the wall and watch your cat try to grab at the small dot. Move it slowly and enjoy your cat's antics as it chases the moving target. Make sure to point the light at areas away from hazards such as sharp corners or ledges. These are safe for the eyes, unlike traditional lasers, but we still recommend to avoid shining the laser into anyone’s eyes.
Enjoy Some Catnip
Catnip is safe for felines of all ages. Sprinkle a bit of this dried plant near your pet and watch it flop to the floor or roll around. Some cats will become more energetic when catnip is nearby, while others will become docile. Make sure to only use a bit of this plant during each session as not much is needed to get a reaction from your pet.
Play Hide-And-Seek
Many cats will enjoy a game of hide-and-seek with their owner. Peek around a corner at your pet and quickly move your head into a non-visible area. Your cat will most likely be curious and come looking for you. This game can be continued throughout your home.
